Adivi Sesh has this habit of disappearing for a while and then popping back with something sharp. He doesn’t rush movies or chase whatever’s trending. One film in three years, and somehow it ends up shaking the box office. Major in 2022 did exactly that. He played Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and the film earned way more than it cost, not surprising for people who follow his work.

Now he’s neck-deep in Dacoit: A Love Story, and he finally opened up a bit about what’s cooking. Spy-thriller fans were hoping for some hint, and he dropped a detail that’s actually pretty gutsy. At a time when half the films slap on the Pan India tag just because they roped in an actor from another industry, he decided to take the harder route.

Dacoit, with Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, isn’t being dubbed into Hindi. He’s shooting it twice, once in Telugu, once in Hindi. Same story, fresh performance each time. He said something interesting: language isn’t just a tool. When you dub, some part of the emotion slips through the cracks. The tone changes, the moment feels a little off, and the audience senses that even if they can’t explain it. And he didn’t want that missing piece.

He talked about how some scenes need to feel raw, not “adjusted in post.” That’s why he prefers straight-language shoots. He followed the same process for Major, since he wrote that one too. With Dacoit, he’s pushing that idea even more.
