First, the team behind Akhanda 2 announced that the paid premiere shows, planned for the previous evening, were cancelled. These premieres were highly anticipated, and tickets had sold out quickly, leaving fans confused and disappointed. Before fans could recover from this news, another update arrived the official release of Akhanda 2 has been postponed.

The production house posted a message on social media saying, “With a heavy heart, we inform you that Akhanda 2 will not be released as planned due to unavoidable circumstances.” They also acknowledged the excitement and expectations of the audience and apologised for the inconvenience. The makers added that they are working to fix the issues and will announce a new release date once everything is resolved.

The postponement comes as a surprise because Akhanda 2 has been one of the most awaited movies of the year. Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu previously delivered major hits like Simha, Legend, and Akhanda. Their successful combination created strong buzz around the sequel.

A few rumours mention Mahesh Babu’s One: Nenokkadine and Aagadu losses were the reason behind 14 reels and Eros conflict and that's why Akhanda 2 was halted requesting 14 reels to clear those dues.
