In Hollywood, there is a place for Independent films, a label given to film where writers and directors find producers or go for crowd funding to make their films without studios involvement.

Such techniques have come to India but did not succeed in Regional and National level markets as expected.

Lucia, a Kannada film by Pawan Kumar became first breakthrough hit in Indian Cinema which was produced by crowd and became a mainstream hit.

In Telugu, Kathi Mahesh adopted the technique and made, Pesarattu, which ended up as a disaster.

After many moons, Phanindra Narisetti, who created a viral sensation some years ago with short film, Madhuram, waited long with Manu script and went for crowd funding.

He said, "I have to thank one and all for believing in us and we received one crore in just 4 days after we asked for funding. There are people who gave us 1000 to 40 lakhs to make this dream come true. I don't know how and why they believed me, because no one asked me what happened to money and when will they get back. I won't talk much about movie as we believe it will find its own voice on 7th September."

Chandini Chowdary is playing the lead role in the film and it is said to be a romantic psychological thriller.
