Delhi High Court quashes Juhi Chawla's petition against 5G, slaps a fine of Rs 20 lakh

The Delhi High Court heard a petition filed by yesteryear Bollywood superstar Juhi Chawla filed against the 5G technology on Friday, that was filed earlier this week. The High Court dismissed the plea and came down on the actress severely.

The Court said that the petition was filed for publicity and slapped a fine of Rs 20 lakh against the actress and two other appellants.

The single bench judge if GR Midha found fault with the actress sharing links of the hearing on social media. The hearing was subjected to disruptions after some unidentified people sang songs of Juhi Chawla.

"Plaintiffs abused process of law. Costs of Rs 20 lakh is imposed on plaintiffs: Court. It appears suit was for publicity. Juhi Chawla circulated link of the hearing on social media," the bench observed.

The Delhi Court had issued directives to the police department to find out the people, who had caused disruptions for the hearing.

Earlier this week, Juhi Chawla, Veeresh Malik, and Teena Vachani had knocked on the doors of the High Court to seek directives to stop the 5G services in the country till the network receives the certification to prove it as safe.
