Huge Budget Cuts And Star Remuneration Cuts Might Be The Unavoidable!

Update: 2020-04-01 07:59 GMT
Telugu Cinema production budgets have gone up to Rs. 100 to Rs. 150 crores for big hero films as even Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru budgets were said to be touch and go, Rs. 100 crores.

We don't know if exactly that is the amount but the gossip in the Industry is that, the producers of those films have spent close to 100 crores for sure on production.

Directors of both films took above Rs. 10 crores as remuneration and Star heroes got Rs. 45 - 50 crores as their remuneration, after all the profits, percentages in sharing revenues have been calculated, dispersed it seems.

This is huge expenditure on a movie at any stage and after Lockdown, with Overseas market almost non-existent for few months, producers might ask for huge pay-cuts and budget cuts, going forward.

Online streaming rights revenue might be their main target until audiences flock to theatres for every release again in large numbers.

So, every big and small producer, might try to think twice about spending on films at this time. Young directors might see few issues in convincing producers as well.

Future looks scary for new producers but big stars might have to come out and decease their remuneration, percentages in profit sharing for one or two years, to let the Industry withstand this big hit. Let's hope young talents won't be discouraged during the time.
