Pan-Indian hero Prabhas' decision to walk away from the Sankranti race has proved to be beneficial for other biggies who are gearing up to set the cash registers ringing at the box office. As we know, Megastar and Balakrishna are battling it out this Pongal season but what made things even more interesting is the arrival of big dubbing flicks too.
Senior heroes like Balayya and Chiranjeevi are gearing up to lock horns through their movies like 'Veera Simha Reddy' and 'Waltair Veerayya' respectively. Thalapathy Vijay will be arriving during the same season with 'Varasudu' and we all know the 'Bigil' hero's craze in South India. Even Akhil's 'Agent' is getting released in the same festive season.
The release dates of these films are expected to be January 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th respectively but nothing has been announced yet. Looking at the huge competition, the teams of these biggies need to reveal the release dates two months before as the buyers need to block theatres. Also, having a clarity over release dates will help the exhibitors in reaching some kind of agreement and resolve any issues.
None of the movie units have announced the release dates and fans are starting to get worried about it. Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Veera Simha Reddy' is a complete action drama which is being directed by Gopichand Malineni. Popular Kannada actor Duniya Vijay will be seen as the antagonist in this movie while Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is playing a key role. Glamorous lady Shruti Hassan is going to be the female lead in this project. The teaser got a phenomenal response and makers have planned to release it during the Sankranti season.
Coming to Chiranjeevi's 'Waltair Veerayya', it is being directed by Bobby and the teaser will be coming out on Diwali. This is going to be a mass bonanza as per the film's unit and with Ravi Teja playing a full-length role, the audience are going to have a blast seeing the 'Annayya' combo together on the big screens again. Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is composing music for a Megastar's film once again after 'Khaidi No. 150'. Arthur A Wilson is handling the cinematography. Niranjan Devaramane is the editor and AS Prakash is the production designer.
