Lalit Modi calls for CSK termination

Former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi Saturday called for the termination of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) following the arrest of Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of Indian cricket board chief N. Srinivasan, in the IPL spot fixing scam.

"Now that arrest is made of guru and he has been booked by police. India cements franchise agmt should be terminated suo Moto," Modi tweeted Saturday.

"All Srini hatchet men must be made to resign too. Ipl management, Bcci management full of them."

"If the axis of evil and its support cast is not made to resign. This will result in the biggest cover up scam in global history," he added.

Gurunath Meiyappan, who was the team principal of the Super Kings, was late Friday night arrested in Mumbai in connection with the IPL spot fixing scam after three hours of intense interrogation.

His name cropped up in the scam following revelations by Bollywood actor Vindu Dara Singh Randhawa, currently in police custody.
