MAA President Shivaji Raja and General Secretary Naresh had differences of opinion over the funds regarding Silver Jubilee events planned in USA. MAA convened a press meet on Saturday to issue a clarification on this controversy. Producers D Suresh Babu, KL Narayana, Thammareddy Bharadwaj, Shivaji Raja and Naresh had addressed the press.
MAA Members clarified, 'There are no irregularities what-so-ever. We received the fund as per the agreement. Needless to worry about unnecessary aspects. We have come here to issue a clarification to everyone through media. Collective Committee would respond if there are any issues related to Film Industry in future'.
Mediapersons tried to get answers for few tricky questions. However, MAA refused to answer them saying the issue has ended.
When quizzed how could Shivaji Raja and Naresh work with good coordination after making allegations against each other, Thammareddy shot back: 'Whatever might have happenedâ¦it's past. Do you want them to thrash each other?'.
When media insisted that they should ask Shivaji Raja and Naresh few questions, Thammareddy ruled out any scope for it. Few Mediapersons complained it's like insulting them. Then, Thammareddy threatened to walk out if media starts digging the past - 'Media needn't have any doubts. I have been speaking about issues with you since 40 years. Media too brought its issues to our notice. It's time to put an end to the controversy'.
There was confusion for a brief period after Thammareddy refused to allow Journalists to ask Shivaji Raja and Naresh few questions. Then, D Suresh Babu got hold of the mike and calmed down the media persons.
