Superstar Mahesh Babu's Maharshi has now become the all-time third highest earner in the Nizam area by beating Ram Charan's Rangasthalam. Maharshi got a share of Rs. 28 crores in its 19 days run. By this, it crossed the collections of Rangasthalam, which were about Rs. 27.7 crores.
All the mega fans are arguing that how can Maharshi get a higher share with low gross income than Rangasthalam. But the trade pundits said that the difference is due to the lower rate of GST. The GST was higher on tickets during Rangasthalam's run and they have decreased now.
Thus, Maharshi got higher shares with the lower GST. But, it is highly unlikely for the film to cross over all collections of Rangasthalam, which stands at Rs.120 crores. Maharshi is yet to cross 100 crores and it is a huge loss venture in both overseas and Ceded areas.
