Actress Manjima Mohan is making her Telugu debut with Naga Chaitanya's 'Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo' directed by Gautham Menon. She is the daughter of prominent Malayali cinematographer Vipin Mohan.
Manjima Mohan became a child artiste accidentally. As a child artiste didn't turn up for shoot, Vipin Mohan made her Daughter do the role and that's how she made her acting debut at the age of 3. She has done 8 films as a child artiste.
Actually, Vipin Mohan was reluctant to launch his Daughter as Heroine initially. He, however, asked Manjima to follow her heart after completion of Degree. Malayali flick 'Oru Vadakkan Selfie' was her first movie as Heroine. Gautham Menon called her for audition upon watching the trailer of this movie and finalized her later. It was only while signing the agreement she realized that its going to be a Telugu-Tamil bilingual. She knew Tamil as studied for few years in Chennai but Telugu is a completely new language for her.
Manjima Mohan saw Gautham Menon after the release of 'Ye Maya Chesave' when she has gone to a cafe. Manjima was very excited then but never thought she would act in his movie one day. She says Naga Chaitanya is a very friendly co-star.
For Manjima Mohan, The Character that she plays in the movie is more important than the Remuneration she was paid. She wishes to sign films which doesn't make her feel uncomfortable and doesn't want to look untra-glamorous onscreen.
