Dubbing films are not new for telugu audiences. We have seen many dubbed movies from other lands and all tamil stars enjoys good craze among teluguâs. But this is not the exact situation in neighbouring state Karnataka.
Karnataka is the only state where dubbing from other languages into Kannada is not allowed. There was a ban on dubbing movies in Sandalwood industry. Movies, television serials from other languages are not allowed to be dubbed into Kannada. This ban has been in force for more than 50 years. Many termed this ban as unconstitutional and it was lifted very recently.
Now that the ban was lifted recently, Superstar Rajinikanth's animation venture Kochadaiyaan is all set to release in Karnataka in its dubbed Kannada version. This is the first dubbing film that will be releasing in kannada after long gap of 50 years. The last film that was dubbed in Kannada was Teluguâs all time classic Maya Bazar that stars NTR and ANR.
