Raju Sundaram, the busiest choreographer of South Indian Films, decided to become an actor, director following his younger brother Prabhu Deva's path. Even though he is equally successful in being a choreographer, he could not repeat the same magic in front of the screen like his brother. Prabhu Deva started choreography in his teens and by the time, he entered 20's he found himself among the busiest and stars. He then got chance to shake his legs for 'Chiku Buku Raile' song and that propelled, director Shankar to introduce him as a lead actor in Premikudu and 'Mukkala Muquabula' song from the movie took him to National Recognition.

Being elder, Raju Sundaram started off as assistant to his choreographer father, Sundaram and found his footing in the industry by choreographing for films like Roja, Bombay and he also became a favourite of Shankar. He turned him into an actor with his Jeans, but as a supporting actor. Then, a movie on Cricket theme, was made with Raju Sundaram and Simran as leads. The movie failed and Raju started persuing his dream of acting by doing small appearances in his songs.

When his younger brother turned director, with Nuvvosthanante Nenoddanatana, Raju also thought about becoming a director and got a nod from Thala Ajith Kumar. The movie, Aegan was made on the lines of Shah Rukh Khan's Main Hoon Na, directed by another busy choreographer, Farah Khan. The movie was also dubbed in Telugu but flopped. Now, after years, Raju Sundaram started talking about his direction again. Currently, the choreographer is in talks with AK Entertainments producers for a movie.
