Vadivelu said in many interviews that there will be a sequel for the movie but there was never an official announcement to confirm the news for many days. Chimbudevan confirmed it and even S Shankar tweeted a cartoon thanking the fans for making it a success as the movie completed 11 years and he announced that the shoot of the sequel will start soon.

Many fans of Vadivelu are waiting for his full time return to the screen and this movie could be his best bet as Chimbudevan teased with just one cartoon image.
