What Happens When 'Varisu' Fails After Everything?

Update: 2022-12-08 13:58 GMT
Dil Raju is literally fighting against all odds to make sure that his production venture 'Varisu' gets large number of theatres during the Sankranti race. He is going against the demands of Producers Council and trying hard to get Vijay's film more theatres than 'Waltair Veerayya' and 'Veera Simha Reddy'. We all know how tense the situation is and Vijay is expected to have the biggest release in Telugu states till date.

But what happens if Vijay's 'Varasudu' fails to impress the audience despite all this fuss? This is the question which is lingering in the minds of everyone. Though Vijay's stardom may pull the film over the safe zone in Tamil Nadu, the situation is a bit different in the Telugu states. Vijay is not a huge star in Telugu and he needs to get a very positive talk to withstand the competition from Chiru and Balayya and collected around 20-25 crores on top of it. This fight over the Sankranti releases have brought a lot of negative buzz over 'Varasudu' and Dil Raju.

Also, Rashmika being the heroine may work against the film in the Karnataka region. Above all that, Vamsi Paidipally is an unknown director in Kollywood. Coming to Tollywood, he is yet to give a defining hit. His 'Munna' was a failure while 'Brindavanam' was a decent success. He made 'Yevadu' which was inspired from 'Face Off' and the second half reminded people of 'Chatrapathi' and 'Vikramarkudu'. His next film 'Oopiri' was a remake of the French film 'The Intouchables'. His last film 'Maharshi' which got national award and good collections is not a favourite for Mahesh Babu fans. Too much messages and similarities with 'Srimanthudu' made people criticise the director.

With the trailer not being released till date, people don't know what to expect from 'Varasudu'. While it is clear that there will be a lot of fan service, we need to see if 'Varasudu' impresses the Telugu audience or not.
