After making a debut with Awe, he collaborated with Hero Rajasehra for 'Kalki' which made good numbers at the box-office and the critics lauded the director's choice of scripts.

He partially directed the Telugu version of Kangana Ranaut starrer Queen. Milky Beauty Tammanah reprised the role of Kangana in Telugu version, while Kajal was roped in for Tamil Version.

Despite directing a major portion of the film, Prashant Varma didn't show much interest in getting crest for his work,

When asked about the same, Prashant said, when the project 'That Is Mahalakshmi' is offered to me, the lion share of the film shooting was completed. I just did a favor to the producer, that's why I didn't want to take the credit for the film.

On the work front,  Prashant Varma is working on a project about the virus contagion.  He recently narrated a story to Megastar Chiranjeevi and waiting for his green signal.
