Update: 2021-09-18 10:42 GMT
India's ace director SS Rajamouli has scored nothing but blockbusters till date. Starting from 'Student No 1' to 'Baahubali - The Conclusion', every film was memorable and it is safe to say that 'Vikramarkudu' was one of the massive hits in his career. This film featuring Ravi Teja and Anushka Sharma in the lead came out in 2006 and Rajamouli's supreme narration paired with a strong storyline made this film a big hit.

This movie was later remade in many languages including Hindi, Tamil and others. Karthi played the lead in the Tamil remake while Akshay Kumar was seen as 'Rowdy Rathore' in Hindi. Many people thought that 'Vikramarkudu' deserves a sequel but both Ravi Teja and Rajamouli became busy with other projects. Sources say that the sequel may happen 15 years after 'VIkramarkudu' came out. Apparently, star writer Vijayendra Prasad who happens to be Rajamouli's father has penned a strong story for 'Vikramarkudu 2'.

But it may be tough for Rajamouli to direct the sequel as he is completely immersed in the works of his upcoming pan-Indian flick ‘RRR’. After that, he stated that his next movie will be with superstar Mahesh Babu. It will take a minimum of two years for Rajamouli to become free again.

Reports claim that Vijayendra Prasad is looking to make 'Vikramarkudu' with another director. Also, the star writer is planning to make this on a pan-Indian scale. He is even holding talks with some big production banners too and we need to see who handles the megaphone for this crazy project. If it really happens, will that director showcase the level of brilliance Rajamouli displayed?
