The Tollywood film industry which was not happy with the Andhra Pradesh government's decision to reduce the movie ticket fares made its best attempt to make the government change its decision. Sadly, the efforts went in vain. The Andhra Pradesh government is having an adamant nature and going ahead in the matter.
To bring a solution to how the movie ticket rates should be reduced, the government formed a committee. As per the High Court Division Bench orders, the government formed the committee. People from various departments were picked as the members of the panel.
The movie tickets issue had reached the High Court recently and during the hearing, the Andhra Pradesh government told the Court that the committee that the panel met for the meeting recently and would meet for one more time in the next few days.
Giving this as a reason, the Advocate General sought some more time to file a counter-affidavit. Allowing this, the High Court adjourned the next hearing to February.
As the hearing was postponed, the theatres and film distributors who hoped that they might get clarity on the issue had to wait for some more time. The wait in the issue continues for one more month.
