Is Balakrishna Ahead Of Chiru In Senior Race?

There was once a time when Chiranjeevi was leading the Tollywood race for top heroes. He was widely accepted as the number one hero in Telugu cinema by a fair distance. However, this was a story in the past, and this calculation has completely lopsided now.

As it appears, Nandamuri, Balakrishna is the one who is dominating the race amongst the existing Senior stars in Tollywood. Thanks to consecutive box office success Balakrishna has emerged as the top hero in the Senior segmentation of Tollywood.

Balayya has delivered for superhit back-to-back, and this is something that no other Tollywood Senior could replicate in recent years. Chiranjeevi had the biggest hit amongst senior stars with Waltair Veerayya, this was an isolated hit amongst other disasters.

Venkatesh had F3 and it was followed by Saindhav. Nagarjuna hasn’t breached the Rs 100 crore club yet. On the other hand, Balayya has two 100 crore films back to back with Veera Simha Reddy and Bhagwanth Kesari, while Daku Maharaj is also on the trot.

Consistency and successive hits are always a good sign for any Hero beat a senior Hero or the current crop of superstars. While most other heroes are struggling in this aspect, it is good to see Nandamuri Balakrishna, punching above his weight consistently and delivering the successes.

The responsibility is now on other superstars in the senior segment to replicate something on these lines. They too, will have to deliver consecutive hits at the box office if they are too attain a strong market for themselves.
