Balakrishna Injury Shakes Up Big Projects

Nandamuri Balakrishna has an interesting line-up of films, but his recent injury has changed the plans of several upcoming projects. The actor suffered a serious knee injury while shooting for his upcoming film NBK111, directed by Gopichand Malineni. He later underwent surgery in Hyderabad and is currently recovering.

The injury has now reportedly affected the schedule of Balakrishna’s next film with director Koratala Siva. The project, which is being referred to as NBK112, was expected to begin shooting in August. However, because Balakrishna needs enough time to recover, the makers are said to have postponed the shoot.

The latest reports suggest that the Koratala Siva film may now start only next summer. The director is expected to wait until Balakrishna is fully fit before starting the project. Since the movie is planned on a big scale, the team reportedly does not want to rush the production.

This delay is also creating changes in another important project. Director Anil Ravipudi was expected to work with Balakrishna after completing his film with Venkatesh. Their previous collaboration, Bhagavanth Kesari, received a good response, so there has been strong interest in their next combination.

However, Balakrishna’s changed schedule may now force Anil Ravipudi to look at another option. Reports suggest that the director could next team up with Megastar Chiranjeevi instead of immediately starting his film with Balakrishna.

Nothing has been officially confirmed about these changes yet, so the actual plans may become clear only after the filmmakers make an announcement. Still, Balakrishna’s injury has clearly created a chain reaction in the schedules of some major Telugu films.
