Senior superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna is lining up back-to-back projects, but one of them is currently stuck, and it’s not because of script issues or planning delays. In fact, the star is set to work with two young directors, the talented ones, Vivek Athreya and Vijay Kanakamedala. While the project with Vijay is expected to move at a quicker pace, the film with Vivek Athreya is facing a slight delay. Here’s the reason behind that.
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is expected to play a crucial role in this film, and the team is waiting for his dates to fall in place. As per the talk, Mohanlal is currently busy with two movies at the same time and it will easily take 2-3 months for him to get freed. Once that’s sorted, the project of Balakrishna-Vivek will go on the floors immediately.
This combination itself is quite interesting. Director Vivek Athreya, known for his unique storytelling style, delivered Ante Sundaraniki earlier and recently scored a solid hit with Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. His writing has always stood out, and pairing that sensibility with Balakrishna’s mass image raises curiosity.
On the other side, Balakrishna is coming off a strong commercial phase. Films like Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, and Bhagavanth Kesari have kept him firmly in the mass zone, delivering consistent box office results. He is also balancing his political commitments alongside films, making his scheduling even tighter.
Vijay Kanakamedala, who directed Naandhi and Ugram, is also working on a project with Balakrishna. That film is expected to be more intense and performance-driven, with the hero likely to play a police officer.
