In today’s Tollywood box office, a 100 crore share has become a major benchmark. Earlier, even a 50 crore share was considered a big achievement. But now with higher ticket prices more screens and a wider market, star hero films are expected to cross the 100 crore mark easily.
Recently, Megastar Chiranjeevi joined this elite club once again with his Sankranti release Manamey Shankara Varaprasad Garu. The film entered the 100 crore share club without much difficulty. With this, discussions around the box office records have once again become a hot topic on social media.
At present, many top stars are already part of the 100 crore share club. These include Prabhas, Jr NTR, Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Pawan Kalyan. Surprisingly, young hero Teja Sajja also entered this club with his blockbuster Hanuman. Senior actor Venkatesh achieved the feat with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. However, two senior stars are still missing from this list Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nagarjuna.
Balakrishna delivered big hits like Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, and Bhagavanth Kesari. Though these films performed very well, they stopped just short of the 100 crore share mark. Even Akhanda 2 which was expected to set new records, could not cross the milestone. Fans believe that with one perfect commercial film, Balayya can easily achieve this target.
Nagarjuna’s case is similar. Films like Soggade Chinni Nayana and Bangarraju were successful Sankranti releases but earned around 50 to 70 crore share only. Even Naa Saami Ranga received decent talk but failed to generate massive numbers. Akkineni fans are hopeful that his upcoming films will finally help him reach this magical figure.
Now, everyone is waiting to see who will reach the milestone first Balakrishna or Nagarjuna.
