The film industry is changing rapidly with the growth of Artificial Intelligence. From creating visuals to generating voices and designing characters, AI is slowly becoming a part of filmmaking. Looking at these developments, one question is becoming important. Can AI really replace actors, directors, producers and other people in the film industry.

Earlier making a film required hundreds of people. Actors had to perform in front of cameras, directors had to guide them, and technicians had to work on sets, lighting, editing and visual effects. But things are slowly changing. But now AI tools can create realistic scenes, characters and videos without a traditional film shoot.

Social media is already showing what AI can do. Many Instagram videos feature popular heroes in imaginary films, action scenes and songs. Some of these videos look so realistic that viewers find it difficult to identify whether they were actually shot or created using AI.

Director Sundar C recently spoke about the future of filmmaking while discussing the visual effects in his upcoming film Mahashakthi, also known as Mookuthi Amman 2. He said, "Our film has more than 3,000 CGI shots, but AI was used in only 15 of them. Around 800 local Tamil technicians worked for more than a year to create the remaining visuals. It is painful when their hard work is ignored and people focus only on criticism."

He also shared his thoughts about the future of cinema. "Technology is developing very fast. In the coming years, films may be made without traditional shooting. Actors may only need to give permission to use their appearance and voice. The remaining scenes, settings and visuals could be created using AI," he explained.

Now with all these, the biggest question in everyone's mind is can AI really replace everyone. But the answer can be big NO. It may reduce the need for certain jobs and make film production faster and cheaper. But storytelling, emotions, creative decisions and understanding audience expectations are still important parts of cinema.

AI may create a hero's face or generate a scene but making audiences laugh, cry and connect with a story is a different challenge. So whatever the generation is, it's creativity that always wins on AI.
