A few days ago, the much-anticipated title for Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's ambitious coastal drama was unveiled on Chay's birthday. Titled "Thandel," the film will see Chay portraying the role of a fisherman from Srikakulam, entangled in a significant conflict amidst the sea waters off the Gujarat coast. Chandoo Mondeti is the film's director.


In a recent interview, director Chandoo Mondeti shared insights into the meaning behind the title "Thandel." According to Chandoo, "Thandel" translates to boat operator in Gujarati and has historical significance, extensively used in hamlets along the Gujarat-Pakistan border.

Chandoo Mondeti further disclosed the commendable efforts put in by Naga Chaitanya over the past six months to prepare for his role. Chay dedicated time to visiting Matsyalesam village in Srikakulam, engaging with local fishermen to understand their body language.

Additionally, he participated in workshops to master the Srikakulam dialect and the nuances of a fisherman's body language. Chay's commitment extended to physical transformation, involving growing his hair and beard and hitting the gym to achieve a bulked-up physique.

In a separate revelation, Chandoo Mondeti shared that "Thandel" will showcase an emotional love story between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, adding more depth to the film. Produced by Bunny Vas under the GA2 Movies banner, "Thandel" is set to feature a compelling soundtrack crafted by the talented Devi Sri Prasad.
