Telugu cinema has seen many blockbuster films over the years with some running in theaters for months. Despite this trend, Balakrishna’s 2014 film Legend directed by Boyapati Srinu set a historic record by running in a single theater for over three years.

Released on March 28, 2014, Legend continued screening at Archana Theater in Proddatur, Andhra Pradesh until 2017 achieving an incredible run of more than 1,000 days. This made it one of the longest-running Telugu films in recent history. The movie’s popularity extended beyond Proddatur as it also completed 1,000 days in Emmiganoor, Kurnool district proving Balakrishna’s strong fan following.

The film’s extraordinary success was celebrated by the theater owner Obul Reddy and director Boyapati Srinu, who released a special poster marking the achievement.
