Crazy Film To Arrive With Lengthy Duration!

Creative filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj who really burst onto the scene with 'Pizza' and 'Jigarthanda' was unable to reach the same level of success in recent times. Despite making big ticket movies like 'Petta', 'Jagame Thantiram' and 'Mahaan', his work left a lot of people disappointed. He is arriving with 'Jigarthanda 2' which features Lawrence and SJ Suryah in the main roles.

As we know, 'Jigarthanda' is the original version of 'Gaddalakonda Ganesh'. Bobby Simha won the National Award for his performance in the movie and the same role was portrayed by Varun Tej in the Telugu remake. It was also made in Hindi as 'Bachchan Pandey' with Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon. Now, 'Jigarthanda 2' is hitting the screens on 10th November and the runtime turns out to be 2 hours and 52 minutes.

While the trailer and songs are impressive, we need to see if the lengthy runtime affects the film or not. Duration has become a key factor these days as the patience levels of the viewers have gone down drastically. Also, it is not easy to impress the viewers with a dubbing film. The movie has to reach the mass audience. Even a film like 'Mark Antony' which was a big hit in Tamil Nadu turned out to be a failure in Telugu.

Lawrence is arriving after flops like 'Rudhrudu' and 'Chandramukhi 2'. While people love SJ Suriya, he doesn't have the capacity to drag the audience into the theatres. It is going to be a huge challenge for Karthik Subbaraj. Also, there is going to be huge competition from films like Karthi's 'Japan', Salman's 'Tiger 3' and Vaisshnav's 'Aadi Kesava' in the Telugu market. Let us wait and see what happens.
