Lokesh Kanagaraj opens up on his frustration
Lokesh mentioned that fans often get overly passionate when defending their favorite heroes' box office success.
Kollywood iconic director Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for blockbusters like Khaidi, Master, and Vikram, has a large fan following. However, he recently made a surprising announcement about quitting social media. In a recent interview while promoting his movie Leo, Lokesh expressed his frustration with the hate and trolling he receives on social media, especially during fan rivalries.
Lokesh mentioned that fans often get overly passionate when defending their favorite heroes' box office success. Unfortunately, this can lead to ugly exchanges, and fans sometimes tag him in their posts, bombarding him with thousands of such messages daily. Due to this, Lokesh is contemplating leaving social media.
He went on to clarify that his only reason for being on social media is to support newcomers and low-budget films. He expressed his disinterest in social media, considering it just a form of entertainment lasting a couple of hours. Lokesh believes that fans should enjoy it and then return to their daily lives, without treating it like a battle.
Lokesh's latest film, Leo, featuring Thalapathy Vijay, had an exceptional opening day, collecting nearly RS 140 crore. It even surpassed the first-day collections of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, despite facing some negative feedback.
