“While everyone is going with the routine commercial template, only a few of them are succeeding. I want to do different things, and that started with Thandel first, followed by Vrushakarma now”, said Naga Chaitanya Akkineni the other day at the glimpse launch event of his latest film. Looks like his belief in the content-driven cinema has paid off, as the actor is now honoured with the “Best Actor” trophy at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards

Undoubtedly, Naga Chaitanya has not only picked up Thandel just like a film, but he has actually helped the director Chandu Mondeti narrate a chilling story of Telugu fishermen who were stranded in Pakistan for a long time. The film not only received appreciation from all quarters but also made amazing revenue at the box office, a feat that art-centric films often fail to do. By undergoing a lot of transformation for this role, and practising a new Telugu dialect, Chay has shown his passion, and waited with patience for good things to come, and finally it paid off.

Though Naga Chaitanya has won many awards earlier, this particular Best Actor trophy is going to be a proud memory and moment of a lifetime for him. Also, this win gives him more confidence to take up content-driven films, a feat that only a few Telugu stars are getting ready to do. On that note, let’s wish Naga Chaitanya good wishes and hope he will win many such laurels in the coming days.
