Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently at the peak of his career as he has been delivering consecutive hits at the box office. His latest film, Daku Maharaj also turned out to be a winner at the Telugu box office.

Meanwhile, the makers took the occasion to release the film in Hindi last weekend as they planned that the collaboration of Balayya and Bollywood star Bobby Deol would work very well for the film. However, this move backfired very badly.

Reportedly the film could not even post mention worthy numbers at the Hindi box office as it was a complete washout. With a mainstream film in the form of Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force releasing last weekend, literally no emphasis was placed on Daaku Maharaj.

The idea was perhaps to launch Balakrishna in Hindi through the added image of Bobby Deol in this film. This could have been a part of the plan to set the stage for Akhanda 2.

However, this turned out to be a disaster plan as this film did not get even any sort of recognition in the Hindi belt. The plan to set the stage for Akhanda 2 did not work. Perhaps Balakrishna was better off releasing Akhanda 2 directly in Hindi considering that the first part got decent reach in Hindi after the OTT release.

No, Balayya will have to carry the forced luggage of the failure of Daku Maharaj while he aspires to have a big release for Akhanda 2 in Hindi. This risky gamble did not pay off for him.

Meanwhile, Daku Maharaj has nearly closed out its run in the Telugu states and overseas. Any hopes of getting better with the Hindi run are also evaporated as the film could get nowhere at the Hindi box office in the opening.
