Everyone are going to enter the battle arena from today and the entire focus will be on the political scenario which leaves zero chance for movies to garner any attention.
A few small movies are going to be released on Friday. Some of them are 'Market Mahalakshmi', 'Sara Panjaram', 'Teppa Samudram', 'Parijatha Parvam' and 'Tenant'. We need to see how many people turn up to theatres to watch these movies. A few makers are showing confidence in their products and showing 'Tillu Square' as an example. They claim that people will encourage movies if the content is impressive. But did they forget about 'Family Star'?
Next weekend will witness the releases of movies like 'Prathinidi 2', 'Love Me', 'Baak' and 'Rathnam'. The situation is not great for these flicks too. The burning hot summer added to the election fever is surely making people stay away from cinema halls. Kollywood films will have an advantage as the Tamil Nadu elections will be done by then. It will benefit 'Aranmanai 4' and 'Rathnam'.
In May, there are some interesting movies like 'Aa Okkati Adakku', 'Prasanna Vadanam', 'Krishnamma', 'Sabari' and 'Gangs Of Godavari'. Prabhas' magnum opus 'Kalki 2898 AD' got postponed and the new release date is yet to be announced. Let us see how all these flicks fare at the box office.
