Why Is No One Talking About DSP?

It is a huge thing to get a National Award in the Best Music Director category. Only three Telugu composers namely MM Keeravani, Ramesh Naidu and Thaman got the award till date. Though KV Mahadevan, Ilayaraaja and Vidyasagar too bagged National Awards, they are not Telugu people. Though Thaman has his roots in Telugu land, he was born and brought up in Tamil Nadu.

But Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad who won the National Award for being the Best Music Director is a Telugu man through and through. Though his base is Chennai, he is considered as a Telugu industry person. His songs in 'Pushpa' were nationwide hits and it is the reason for him bagging the award. But no one is celebrating his success in the proper way. Not many are discussing about his work in media or in social media. This is quite shocking.

Indirectly, it is Allu Arjun who is the reason for Devi Sri Prasad not getting highlighted more. Bunny is the first actor to win the Best Actor award for a Telugu cinema till date. So, the entire film industry is focused on it and everyone are congratulating the star hero in public and in social media platforms. He has grabbed the headlines completely and there is one or the other news about him even today. He is getting drenched in all the plaudits.

But Devi Sri Prasad won the National Award for the same film and yet no one is talking about him. He is silently going about his work in Chennai. Had Devi been the only person to receive a National Award, the scenario would have been completely different. Tollywood bagged around 11 National awards and it will be tough for DSP to get recognition there too as everyone will focus on Bunny and 'RRR' team.
