Pawan Kalyan’s recent film OG had a decent run in the theatres, but it appears that the success of the film is not transitioning into the actual profits. The satellite rights of OG are yet to be sold, and this has raised curiosity in film trade circles.

Despite the massive buzz surrounding the project, television channels have not finalized a deal for the satellite broadcast so far.

According to industry sources, the main reason appears to be the price expectations quoted by the producers. The makers are reportedly demanding a premium amount for the television rights, banking on the star power of Pawan Kalyan and the film’s scale.

However, TV channels are said to be cautious and are not ready to meet the quoted price at the moment.

Another factor influencing the delay is the changing dynamics of the satellite market. In recent years, television networks have become more selective while acquiring film rights, especially with the rapid growth of OTT platforms that now dominate the digital streaming space.

Channels are increasingly evaluating the potential TRP performance of films before committing to large deals. Trade analysts also note that producers sometimes prefer to wait until the film’s release approaches, as the hype generated by promotions and trailers could increase demand and push satellite deals to better valuations.

For now, discussions are believed to be ongoing, and industry observers expect the satellite deal for They Call Him OG to be finalized closer to the film’s release.
