'Kalki' Run Continues Even After Hitting 1000 Crores!
Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD' got released on 27th June and there were huge expectations on it
Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD' got released on 27th June and there were huge expectations on it. The movie got a huge applause right from the morning shows. Prabhas fans were very happy with the way their hero was presented. They got to see the comic side of Prabhas after a long time and his character got huge elevations at the end as well.
The movie created a lot of records by collecting a lot of money from the first day itself. It got more than 500 crores by the end of its first weekend and it had a strong 2nd weekend too. But the collections slowed down after 12 days. With 'Indian 2' arriving this weekend, many predicted that the collections of 'Kalki' will witness a heavy drop.
But 'Indian 2' got a very bad talk and 'Kalki 2898 AD' managed to have decent occupancy despite having a Kamal Haasan film in competition. But the negative talk for 'Indian 2' ensured that the Prabhas starrer will have a free run at the box office this week as well. There are no big releases in Hindi as well. The collections in the North are approaching the 250 crore mark soon.
Prabhas will be seen as Bhairava while Amitabh played the role of Ashwatthama. Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yashkin is the main villain while Deepika Padukone played Sumathi in the film. Ashwini Dutt spent over 600 crores and Santosh Narayanan gave the music. Nag Ashwin revealed that around 60% of the story is left to tell in the second part and there will be more drama and action in it. There will be a second part for 'Kalki' and fans are curious to see what happens next.
