As part of the film’s promotions, Pragya shared insights into her transformative role and the challenges she faced during an interaction with reporters in Hyderabad.
Actress Pragya Jaiswal, known for winning hearts with her performance in Kanche and achieving massive success with Akhanda, is back in the spotlight. Pragya, who has collaborated with Nandamuri Balakrishna on multiple projects, is set to wow audiences once again with their upcoming film Daaku Maharaj, releasing on January 12. As part of the film’s promotions, Pragya shared insights into her transformative role and the challenges she faced during an interaction with reporters in Hyderabad.
Pragya portrays Kaveri, a young woman whose character is unlike any she has played before. Having mostly essayed glamorous roles, including a princess and a collector, this de-glam transformation was a significant departure. ''I had to go in front of the camera without makeup or lipstick. The director and cameraman even asked me to apply clay on my face to ensure I looked authentic,'' she revealed. This striking contrast to her previous roles added depth to her performance, as she embraced the challenge with dedication.
Reflecting on the transition, she admitted, ''When I first came to the set of Daaku Maharaj, I felt completely out of place. But once I stepped into Kaveri’s costume and adopted her look, everything changed. My expressions transformed naturally that’s the magic of this character’s getup.''
Pragya’s willingness to step out of her comfort zone and immerse herself in the raw, unglamorous world of Kaveri highlights her versatility as an actress. With Daaku Maharaj set to release during the festive Sankranthi season, fans are eager to see her in this unique and powerful role, which promises to be a standout performance in her career.
