Raj Kundra has adamantly urged the media to refrain from including his wife, Shilpa Shetty, in his continuing legal issues in his first public remark since the ED raid on his house. "No amount of hyperbole could alter the facts," said the businessman at the center of a money laundering probe. Kundra bemoaned the media's persistent efforts to associate his wife with the case, stressing that such tactics were not only unfair but also seriously harming her reputation. He urged the media to respect Shilpa's boundaries and refrain from bringing her into situations that are unrelated to her.

News of an Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at Kundra's home, which was purportedly connected to his role in the creation and dissemination of obscene content, sparked the issue. Shilpa Shetty's lawyer promptly responded, denying any connection to the matter, despite media outlets immediately linking her to the raid. The attorney stressed that Raj Kundra's activities were the only thing under scrutiny and that Shilpa was not involved in the case. The actress's legal team added that they would take legal action if her photos or films were used without permission in relation to the issue.

The claims of money laundering and porn*ography were brushed aside by Raj Kundra, who has been assisting with the continuing probe for more than four years, as inflated theatrics. He reaffirmed his position that he had been falsely accused and emphasized his belief that the truth will soon be revealed. In his statement, Kundra said he was hopeful that justice would be served in the end and that his complete cooperation with the investigation would help clear his name.

Raj Kundra and a number of accomplices have previously been arrested in this legal struggle, which started in May 2022, but they were eventually released on bond. The accused include executives involved in Kundra's commercial endeavors, as well as actors Poonam Pandey, Sherlyn Chopra, and Umesh Kamat. Both Raj and Shilpa Shetty are adamant about shielding the actress from any unwarranted connection to the issue as the investigation develops, and the actress's legal team has cautioned the media against speculating further.
