Rajamouli is the biggest commercial film director in Indian cinema at this moment, and he is currently working with superstar Mahesh Babu for his upcoming project Varanasi.
While this film is still in the production stage, the team has started to promote it on the global media already and a Hollywood interview regarding the same has been released.
Rajamouli was a series of very interesting questions by Hollywood media journalist, and there was this one particular question about the usage of generative AI in the glimpse video of Varanasi.
This quickly initiated a big discussion as Rajamouli immediately clarified that no sort of AI was used for the generation of the glimpse video of the film. It was all done entirely on visual effects with every minute detail being monitored by Rajamouli himself.
While it is becoming increasingly common for big films to use generative AI in order to get the decide output in a simple manner, it is good to see Rajamouli use the VFX to the fullest capacity as this creates distinctive visuals.
There is a lot of difference between generative AI and visual effects. While AI will create visual output on its own based on the prompt that is given, the VFX is created from scratch with every menu detail being monitored and perfected by the Director himself.
This is the kind of technical brilliant that is expected from Rajamouli, and it is good to see him being on the top of his game with regard to the VFX portion of his Varanasi. Even Mahesh Babu appeared to be fully impressed by the kind of output that has been generated by Rajamouli.
The stage is being prepared for the release of the film on April 7 next year with the Hollywood interview starting already and further things are expected now.
