Ram Charan is one of the biggest stars in Telugu cinema. After the huge success of RRR, fans expected him to achieve greater success across India. However his recent films have not performed as expected. Now all eyes are on his upcoming projects, especially his next film with director Sukumar.

Ram Charan's RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli brought him nationwide recognition. The film received a strong response from audiences across India and helped him gain fans in several languages. Many expected him to continue this success with his next films.

However, Acharya and Game Changer failed to meet audience expectations. These films did not bring the kind of success that Ram Charan's fans had hoped for. His film Peddi also registered decent hit in Telugu states but not in other states.

Ram Charan suffered an injury during the making of Peddi and underwent medical procedures. His recovery and preparation for his next project have also become topics of discussion among fans.

Meanwhile his upcoming project with director Sukumar has created considerable excitement. Tentatively titled RC17, the film marks the reunion of the Rangasthalam combination. Their previous film received a strong response, and fans are hoping that they will recreate the magic once again.

According to reports, the film's launch is planned for November 1 in Hyderabad. Although the shooting was initially expected to begin in December 2026, it has reportedly been pushed to after Sankranthi 2027 because Sukumar needs more time for pre-production. The film is expected to arrive in theatres in 2028.

Sukumar created a nationwide sensation with the Pushpa franchise, which helped Allu Arjun expand his popularity beyond Telugu cinema. This has increased expectations for his film with Ram Charan. If RC17 receive strong responses across India,m then Ram Charan could move closer to becoming a consistent Pan-India star. However, the final result will depend on the films' content, promotions and audience response.
