Sai Pallavi Speaks About Low Remuneration: Very Valid?
However, assistant directors and other second-rank cadres in the key departments don't quite make as much money
The film industry is usually very rewarding for the main men and women. Actors, directors, and chief technicians make a fair bit of money through filmmaking projects. However, assistant directors and other second-rank cadres in the key departments don't quite make as much money.
Addressing the same today, Sai Pallavi made a set of very interesting comments as she fumed at the low payscale for assistant directors and related lower ranked members of the filmmaking industry.
Sai Pallavi remarked that assistant directors are not paid remotely as much as they should be paid for the kind of work they do. She further added that Bollywood is far better in this department as the Hindi film industry is known for paying the assistant directors, assistant cinematographers, and other assistant technicians very handsomely.
This is a very valid point made by the buzzing actress as it is often the second tier cine workers who are discriminated and paid much less for the kind of work they put in. Sai Pallavi has called for a change in this model and she certainly has a strong point to make.
