In a recent interview, co-director Raj revealed shocking details about Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s health during the shoot of Citadel: Honey Bunny. The series, directed by Raj & DK, is set to release on Amazon Prime on November 7, featuring Samantha alongside Varun Dhawan in lead roles. During filming, Samantha’s health was seriously affected by an autoimmune disorder called Myositis, but this condition was not initially known to the crew.

Raj explained how, on several occasions, the team would wait for Samantha to arrive on set, only to later discover that she had fainted or experienced a blackout. Despite these health challenges, she delivered intense performances. Her co-star Varun Dhawan also praised her dedication, acknowledging the hard work she put in despite her condition.

This is not the first time Raj & DK have collaborated with Samantha, as they had previously worked together in Family Man 2, where she played a strong, negative role. Samantha openly spoke about her struggles with Myositis during a press event, revealing that she initially wanted to step back from the project. She even joked that Raj & DK wouldn’t allow her to take a break or go to the hospital, emphasizing her perseverance.

In Citadel: Honey Bunny, which is a spin-off of the American series Citadel, Samantha and Varun play spy agents, adding to the excitement around the upcoming release.
