Romantic Scenes in Maharaj: Shalini Pandey's Shocking Comments
In an interview brimming with joy over the film's success, Shalini shared a hilarious anecdote from the shooting process
Shooting a romantic scene can be nerve-wracking, but for Shalini Pandey on the set of "Maharaj," it took on a whole new meaning – one involving darkness and a dash of fear. The actress, known for her role in Arjun Reddy, opened up about a unique experience while filming the movie, which recently dropped on OTT platforms and is garnering positive reviews.
"Maharaj," starring Junaid Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat under the direction of Siddharth Malhotra, is a period piece based on a true story from the 1800s. In an interview brimming with joy over the film's success, Shalini shared a hilarious anecdote from the shooting process.
"My character is Kishori, a wonderful one," she began. "During a scene that involved natural lighting to create a feeling of intimacy in a dark room, something unexpected happened. I have a fear of the darkness, and while filming that scene, fear got the better of me!" Her candid confession paints a relatable picture, even for those not facing a camera.
Shalini's natural reaction was quite dramatic. "I couldn't take it anymore," she admitted. "I just got up and ran out!" Thankfully, director Siddharth Malhotra understood the situation perfectly. He created a calming atmosphere on set, allowing Shalini to overcome her fear and complete the scene seamlessly. Looking back, Shalini finds humor in the incident. "It makes me laugh now," she said.
This behind-the-scenes story not only highlights Shalini's dedication to her craft but also showcases the supportive environment fostered by director Siddharth Malhotra on the set of "Maharaj."
