Two Telugu Girls, Same Push, What Next?

There’s always a debate that Telugu girls are not getting adequate opportunities in Tollywood to play the lead roles. They are either comedians or sidekicks only. However, after making a fuss on YouTube for a short time, some girls entered movies, played sidekicks, and eventually became heroines. Two of them have literally shaken Tollywood in recent times.

The first such girl is YouTuber Vaishnavi Chaitanya, who shot to fame with her sidekick roles in movies like Ala Vaikuntapurramlo. Years later, she got a chance as a leading lady in “Baby” and the film clicked big time, making her a big name. Now, after YouTube stints and acting as second leads and leads in some films, finally Sri Gouripriya got a huge name with Chennai Love Story. While Vaishnavi failed to cash in on the craze by starring in a couple of flop films, we have to see if Sri Gowri Priya will take this newfound stardom to the next level.

That said, Telugu girls will become superstars only if they get a chance to romance bigger stars like Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Nani and Vijay Devarakonda, to that matter. Until then, even though they star in a series of movies, they will become some local beauties for small films. So after getting the first push through bigger hits and proving themselves as actresses, Telugu girls need to bag big projects opposite big stars.
