No matter what, the Ganesh festival has an inseparable bond with movie songs. With the DJ culture becoming quite popular over the years, we see a lot of movie songs about lord Ganesh playing during the time of Nimarjan and at the Ganesh Mandaps. We see those songs playing all the time. Venkatesh's 'Dandalayya Undralayya' song from 'Coolie No 1' composed by Ilayaraja and penned by Seetha Rama Sastry is playing everywhere over the years.

After that evergreen song, 'Jai Jai Ganesha' from 'Jai Chiranjeevi' composed by Mani Sharma and written by Chandrabose is played even today at all places. Kodi Ramakrishna's 'Jaya Jaya Vinayaka' song made by Vandematharam Srinivas and many other songs became very popular. Even 'Laka Laka Lakumeekara' from 'Devadas', a song from Ram's 'Ganesh' and other songs will also be heard here and there. Even Rahul Sipligunj's private song 'Galli Ka Ganesh' is heard all over Telangana during the festive season.

Recently, Thaman came up with a song about lord Ganesh in 'Bhagavanth Kesari' and hoped that it would become highly popular during the festive season. The lyrical video was released two weeks before Ganesh Chaturthi but it did not meet the expectations. Though it has over 17 million views on YouTube and both Balayya and Sreeleela were energetic in the song, it did not become famous. Thaman tried some new beats but it was not that catchy. Many are saying that Thaman missed a great opportunity.
