For a long time, now, there have been several discussions and debates about the kind of remuneration that are being charged by the leading heroes and directors of Tollywood. There is this long standing need for producers to have substantial support from their heroes and directors.
The standing proposal that has been placed in front of directors is that they must avoid taking huge remunerations during the production of the film and instead to go for profit sharing model. This is the formula that is followed by many Bollywood directors these days.
In tune, with this, the latest speculations are suggesting that the lead leading directors of Tollywood are slowly, but surely moving towards such profit sharing models.
It can be noted that Rajamouli started this profit sharing model right from the Baahubali days itself. He does not take any sort of remuneration upfront from the producer, but instead, takes a hefty share in the profits after the release of the film. This has paid brilliantly for him as all of his films, turned out to be historic blockbusters at the box office.
A similar strategy has been enforced by Sukumar as well for his recent Pushpa franchise. Much like Rajamouli, even Sukumar made a huge amount of money through this profit sharing model as he decided to skip the standard remuneration. In particular, the second part of Pushpa was such a big hit at the box office that Sukumar made a lot of money from it.
Then we have the likes of Trivikram and Koratala Siva, who are also close to opting this model for their film. These two directors are also moving in positive direction when it comes to profit-sharing model and they could be enforcing it very soon.
It is evident that the leading director of Tollywood are surely taking the much needed path of profit sharing, which would greatly help their producers and enhance the production quality of their films.
