Weekend Watchlist: Which Films Will Hit the Mark?
While these films have limited buzz currently, initial audience feedback could boost their popularity
Last weekend saw a lackluster Friday in Tollywood with no major releases, leaving smaller projects like Santosh Shobhan's "Prem Kumar" and #BiggBoss Sohel's "Mr. Pregnant" struggling to gain attention. All eyes now turn to the upcoming weekend, which holds promise.
Dulquer Salman's dubbed film "King Of Kotha" kicks off the treat on August 24, with the potential for success if the content engages audiences. The following day, two Telugu films hit the screens: Varun Tej's "Gandeevadhari Arjuna," praised for its globally appealing content, and "Bedurulanka 2012," a concept film starring Karthikeya.
While these films have limited buzz currently, initial audience feedback could boost their popularity. On August 26, Saturday, the Kannada film "Boys Hostel," dubbed in Telugu, is set to release, promising youthful content that might perform well at the box office.
Additionally, the Hindi film "Dream Girl 2" and the Kannada movie "Toby" by Raj B Shetty release on Friday, likely finding success in urban centers of the Telugu states. For those disappointed by theatrical releases, there's Pawan Kalyan's "BRO" on Netflix and the runaway hit "Baby" on Aha, both releasing on August 25.
These OTT options provide a backup for Telugu audiences if the theater offerings fall short. The upcoming weekend presents a diverse array of films, and it remains to be seen how they fare.
