Not Vijay, Here's Who Played the Younger Version of Him in The GOAT
After three days, the total earnings in Tamil Nadu reached ₹79.25 crore, with an extended weekend estimate between ₹107 and ₹110 crore.
Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film, The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu, has been a massive success, grossing over ₹200 crores globally. The film stars Meenakshi Choudhary as the leading lady and has broken box office records. In Tamil Nadu, the movie earned ₹27.50 crore on Saturday, surpassing Vijay's previous film LEO to set a new record for the highest Saturday collection. After three days, the total earnings in Tamil Nadu reached ₹79.25 crore, with an extended weekend estimate between ₹107 and ₹110 crore.
One of the surprises in the film was the appearance of a younger version of Thalapathy Vijay in the second half. While the character was digitally de-aged, it wasn’t portrayed by Vijay himself. Instead, actor Ayaz Khan played the younger version of Vijay. Ayaz expressed his gratitude to director Venkat Prabhu, Vijay, and the entire team for giving him such a significant opportunity.
Produced by AGS Entertainment, The GOAT also stars notable actors like Sneha, Prasanth, Prabhudeva, Jayaram, and Mohan. The film’s music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, adding to the grandeur of the production.
Meanwhile the film is performing exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu, it hasn't seen the same success in Kerala and Telugu-speaking states. However, in the northern part of India, The GOAT is gradually gaining popularity, even without a release in national theater chains due to a short OTT release window. The three-day all-India total stands at ₹122.50 crore, and the film is expected to reach ₹160 crore by the end of the extended weekend.
Internationally, The GOAT is also performing well, especially in the United States, where it’s competing with LEO. The four-day overseas revenue is estimated at USD 14 million, pushing the worldwide earnings to ₹275 crore.
