Do You Know What Happened To Sarika After Split From Kamal?

Universal hero Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika were together for a long period and decided to part ways. They met in 1982 on the sets of 'Raj Tilak' and got married in 1990. As many might know, Sarika fell from the terrace back in 2001. This happened in Chennai and she was shifted to Mumbai to get treated and stayed in the hospital for a month.

Apparently, there were ruptures in their marriage from a long time but things became bad before the divorce. According to Times Now Digital, “In the last couple of months, matters had worsened to the extent that Kamal and Sarika Haasan lived under the same roof as complete strangers, not even exchanging a word with each other. She occupied one flank of their love nest with their two daughters. He lived alone on another side of the same house, eating meals served out of tiffin carriers. The children, whom the father loved more dearly than anything else in his life, hardly exchanged a few sentences with him during the day. The agony had long before outdistanced the ecstasy. As the debris of a destroyed marriage was scattered with incriminating cruelty, it became tougher and tougher to put up a brave front. Observers at the premieres of the last 10–15 Kamal Haasan starrers witnessed the strains and tensions within the family.”

It says, “The final breakup happened when the couple flew from Chennai to Mumbai (separately) to have their say in front of a mutual friend. Kamal Haasan didn't wish to say much on the matter. The family home that the couple had built degenerated into a railway waiting room with four bewildered and anxious passengers waiting to determine their next destination.”

In an interview, Kamal said, “I have heard that she has done a song and dance in a film. I wish Sarikaji had decided to come back to films while she was still with me. I would have provided her with a role more worthy of her.I will soon be her ex-husband. My concern is the children. They should be given a proper upbringing. I am willing to support them in every possible way, provided they want me to. My fear is their education. They should not be allowed to suffer.”

Talking about his kids, he said, “I do try to visit them. But I am invariably told they are busy with exams or some other pressing activity. I visit them once a week. I was very upset initially. But now I have adjusted to the new condition in my life. Hopefully, they will grow up to understand the situation better than they do now."

At that time, he said, “They should not make the mistake of being uneducated like their parents. Sarikaji may have had no choice in the matter. I was offered the best of opportunities to be educated but turned my back on them. It was a decision based on a personal philosophy, which I now regret. I am trying to make amends by educating myself constantly. Only after they get a formal education!”

It is all a matter of the past as both Kamal and Sarika are busy with their own life while the children are happy with their respective careers.
