Telugu Directors and Heroes Rule, But Why Tamil Music Directors?
| Telugu heroes like Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and Jr NTR, along with directors such as Rajamouli and Sukumar, have earned nationwide recognition. However, the same trend is not equally visible among Telugu music directors. Composers like Anirudh Ravichander are landing major projects across industries, while Telugu talents such as Devi Sri Prasad, Thaman and MM Keeravani are yet to see similar pan-India demand. Even ambitious Telugu films are increasingly looking towards Tamil composers. From AR Rahman to Anirudh, Kollywood music directors have built a strong national presence, raising questions about why Telugu composers are not receiving the same opportunities.
Telugu cinema has become one of the biggest forces in Indian cinema. Heroes like Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and Jr NTR have gained huge popularity across the country. Directors like SS Rajamouli, Sukumar and Sandeep Reddy Vanga have also become well-known names in Indian cinema. Their films are reaching audiences across different languages and creating new records.
Interestingly this trend is not clearly visible among Telugu music directors. While Telugu heroes and directors are making their mark across India, music directors from Tamil cinema are getting more opportunities in big Telugu films also Pan India films.
Anirudh Ravichander is the biggest example of this trend. He has become one of the most wanted music directors in Indian cinema. His songs and background music have created a strong impact among audiences. He is working with top stars and directors across different industries and is receiving offers for major projects.
On the other hand, Telugu cinema has many talented music directors. Devi Sri Prasad has delivered several blockbuster albums and has a strong fan following. Thaman has also become a popular composer with his powerful background scores and hit songs. MM Keeravani has earned national recognition and even won an Oscar for his work.
However, when it comes to getting opportunities in big films across different languages, Anirudh seems to be ahead of many Telugu composers. Even Telugu filmmakers are showing interest in bringing Tamil music directors on board for their ambitious projects.
This raises an interesting question. When Telugu heroes and directors are becoming Pan-India stars then why are Telugu music directors not getting the same level of national attention.
Tamil cinema also has several talented stars and directors, but not everyone from that industry has reached the same Pan-India popularity as Telugu stars. Yet, its music directors are getting strong demand in Tollywood. This is really interesting as in Music department it's Kollywood that most of the times go Pan India right from AR Rehman.
