Research Finds Ancient DNA Responsible For Mental Issues?
The research found that close to eight percent of DNA in the human body consists of genetic sequences that can be traced from ancient viruses.
When we talk about health issues people often talk about physical issues and mental issues are ignored mostly. But things have changed and people are giving good importance to mental health and slowly coming out to discuss the issues they are facing. Celebrities sharing their health issues.
Now a study has found a sensational link between ancient DNA to some mental issues. The traces of the ancient DNA in the human genome play a key role in humans developing mental issues.
The research of American and Britain researchers found that the human endogenous retroviruses (or Hervs) are responsible for conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder major depressive disorder, and others. The ancient DNA can be considered as a major reason for this.
The research found that close to eight percent of DNA in the human body consists of genetic sequences that can be traced from ancient viruses. If we talk about the details of the ancient viruses it goes back to thousands of years and even old days and it is called Hervs.
Hervs works in a way that they infect the cells in a DNA leaving a big impact. Once the cells get affected then it would have a long-lasting impact on humans which triggers conditions like Depression and others.
As part of the study, as many as 800 brain samples were checked. The autopsy helped the researchers to find the traces of DNA that were infected by Herv. Traces of four kinds of Hervs were found in the study which were linked to various types of mental issues.
