23 killed in Nanded Express fire accident in AP

Until now, 23 people have died and 9 others suffered injuries due to the fire that broke out in a boogie of Nanded Express in Anantapur district in AP in the wee hours on Saturday.

The second AC bogie of Nanded Express headed from Bangalore to Nanded with train no. 16594 and 72 passengers catched fire at 3.15 am. A person in the corner seat shouted there was fire and soon several passengers got down of it to save their lives. Few people even jumped from the train upon seeing the fire.

Nanded Express started in Bangalore at 10:45 pm on Friday. A helpline number was released by the railways: 9731666863.
