India is following a Jig Jag in reporting fresh Coronavirus cases. Fresh cases see a dip one day and rise one day. Going by the same trend, India reported a dip in single-day infections compared to Thursday.
In the past 24 hours, India reported 51,667 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus and the total positive virus infections in the country to a whopping 3,01,34,445. India is the second severely affected nation globally.
While the new infections saw a slight dip, the single-day casualties reported a rise after 1,329 people lost the battle with the dreaded virus on Friday. So far, the virus has claimed a total of 3,93,310 lives in the country.
India once again reported more new recoveries than the single-day cases as 64,527 patients have managed to beat the virus. The new addition pushes the total recoveries to 2,91,28,267. The active cases count reduces to 6,12,868.
The India Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said, so far, a total of 39,95,68,448 samples have been tested in the country to detect the virus, while 18,59,469 samples were tested in 24 hours alone.
Since the nationwide vaccination drive was started, 30,79,48,744 people were administered the vaccine doses, this includes 60,73,912 vaccinations that were carried out in the past 24 hours.
