The Congress Party is busy findng a scapegoat for the Rajasthan fiasco. Despite several attempts, the party is unable to portray itself as a victim in Rajasthan. It is unable to convince the people that it is the victim. Rebel Sachin Pilot has managed to portray himself as an underdog while Ashok Gehlot and the Congress leadership is unable to erase the image of a power-mongering bunch. Also, it is unable to have its way even in the courts of law.
So, the party is now busy finding scapegoats for the whole drama. A blame game is on in the party. While some blame party leader Randeep Singh Surjewala for the whole drama and feel that he has mismanaged the whole thing. Yet others are blaming another senior leader and leading advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi for his advice to go to the courts of law. In fact, it was he who advised Gehlot to go to the court and invoke anti-defection law against Pilot. With the court rebuffing the Congress, the party feels his advice has doomed the party. Yet others feel that both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi did not act right and did not address Sachin Pilot's concerns at the right time.
Even as the blame game is continuing and each leader is making the others scapegoat, Priyanka Gandhi has pitched herself in favour of Sachin Pilot. She has of late began advocating Sachin's point of view and is trying to win him over. But, Sachin is proving to be a hard nut to crack.
